A 1989 graduate of the University of Michigan, Kevon Martis currently serves as Lenawee County Commissioner for District 7. He is also the Deerfield Township zoning administrator. He is endorsed by Right to Life of Michigan and the Police Officers Association of Michigan, the first Lenawee County Commissioner to receive that endorsement. His first term as commissioner has shown him to be a fierce advocate for fiscal restraint, limited government, and passionate concern for the welfare of his constituents as well as the welfare of county employees. He has worked above and beyond his job description by developing collaborative relationships with local agricultural and manufacturing industry stakeholders and worked overtime on improving rail infrastructure in Lenawee County to compensate for the lack of direct access to the interstate highway system. He has worked with the commission to tighten rules for conflict of interest and helped advance the County's first ethics policy. Commissioner Martis despises self-dealing officials and has the courage to speak out against such behavior. At the same time, he has shown himself to be diplomatic and cooperative with his colleagues and county staff.
